Venue

TYPES 2026 will take place at Lindholmen Conference Center in Gothenburg.

Talks will take place in room Pascal with coffee in tha hall outside the room.
Lunches will take place in Akva restaurant, located right by Lindholmspiren and with a view of the river.

The conferene will run from ca 9:00 to ca 18:00 every day.

Travel

By plane:
The closest airport is Landvetter.
There are airport coaches both to the city center (35 minutes bus connection running every 20 min during the day) and to Lindholmen (50 min bus connection running every 40 min during the day). Buying the tickets before boarding the bus is a bit cheaper.

By train or buss:
Gothenburg’s Central Station and Nils Ericson Bus Station are located next to each other and close to the city center.

Getting around in Gothenburg:
The city centre is quite small and walking is the best option.
If you want to use a local bus the best is to download the ToGo App where you can both plan your trip and buy tickets.

A single ticket within Gothenburg area costs 37 SEK and is valid during 90 min. There are also 24 hours tickets (120 SEK) and 72 hours tickets (240 SEK). When bought via the app, the tickets are activated at the time of time of purchase.
Other options are bikes for hire or electric scooters such as Voi.
Taxis are expensive in Sweden but Bolt seems to have more reasonable prices.
There are of course many other companies offering bikes, scooter and taxi services.

Internet access

Eduroam Internet access is available at the conference venue; if not already configured, you can download a configuration tool for your device here. If you do not have access to Eduroam. This is also a guest WiFi network at the conference center that you can use while there.

Other practical information

Money: The currency in use is Swedish crown (SEK or sometimes kr). Credit cards are widely accepted and many shops do not accept cash. Tipping is not required, but in restaurants, a tip of around 5-10% is common. Most paying machines at the restaurants have the option to include fix % on the total amount.

Time zone: During TYPES 2026, Gothenburg will be in the Central Europe Summer Time time zone (UTC+2).

Electricity: The standard electricity voltage in Sweden is 230 volts (V) at a frequency of 50 Hz.
The standard electrical system uses Type F plugs (sometimes called Schuko), which have two round pins and two earth clips on the side. Adapters are widely available in shops.

Visas: If you are not a citizen of a EU country you may need to apply for a Schengen visa.¨to visit Sweden for up to 90 days. Please check the pages at Swedish migration office. If you need to apply for a visa, we are happy to supply a support letter for you after you have registered for the conference. If you require such that a letter, please send an e-mail to with your name (as it appears in your passport) and your physical address.
